Sample Loading Procedure ------------------------ To load your sample before beginning the experiment, follow these steps: 1. Ensure the collimation tip is in the 'out' position so it doesn't get bumped. 2. Place your sample inside the cup of the bottom anvil. 3. Ensure there is a top anvil installed in the PE breech. If there is no anvil or you need to swap anvils, loosen the sets screws slightly with a [INSERT SIZE HERE] hex key. Use magnets to remove and/or insert an anvil. Once the anvil is seated, tighten all 4 set screws. 4. Carefully insert the breech into the top of the PE press. Do not thread it in yet if you are planning on using the water cooling lines. 5. If heating above 500 deg. C or for long periods of time, the top and bottom copper cooling lines must be used. The bottom line should already be installed. To install the top line, carefully insert the cooling collar into the press, placing it directly below the breech. Ensure you do not hit your sample as you do so. While holding the top collar, use the socket wrench to lower the breech down through the collar. Once the breech is low enough for the top anvil to partially obscure the top of the sample cell, use a [INSERT SAMPLE CELL] hex key to tighten the bolt on the collar. Before tightening, position the cooling collar as far away from the tip as possible to provide room to access larger diffraction angles if needed. 6. If the cooling collar is not needed, lower the breech with the socket wrench until the top anvil partially obscures the top of the sample cell. 7. Placeholder text 1. Example text 2. More example text
